“Love The Way You Lie” music video

“Love The Way You Lie” by Eminem feat. Rihanna. Who’s that in the video? That be Megan Fox and Dominic Monghan. Warning: this is an intense song and violent video. What do you think?

Last week I introduced you to Bandcamp and posted my single “Last Dance” on there. Now I’ve listed all my music to date on Bandcamp, which I love for its amazing ability to drop the song into Facebook, MySpace, WordPress, Twitter, Typepad, Blogger, LiveJournal and more. In the case of your blog, you can select different sizes and even little visual players.
For example, check out the equalizer that plays with “Disguise, bubbles with “(Nothing But My) Heartbeat”, abstract 3D art for “Dirty Step Upstage” and the flowers that pop up with “Who’s That Girl”. Just don’t play them all at once or you’ll have an awful racket!

August 3rd, 2010On Music Mondays I write about music.
While I was hoping to say “Hello, I’ve returned from my vacation in Maine and back to regularly scheduled blog programming,” but in fact I am on the road again. It’ll just be through this week and then I’ll be stuck in Chicago with my upcoming productions (that is until I move for New York at the the end of the month). Phew.
I’ll do my darndest to keep the blog up-to-date, starting with a little catch up for Music Monday.
I’m happy to announce that Girl In The Red Dress is now over on Bandcamp, where currently you can download my dance cover of Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” for free through the month of August. That’s right. For FREE.
Check it out below:
I can thank Ms. Amanda F. Palmer for leading me to Bandcamp. She recently made $15,000 in the first three minutes of putting her Radiohead cover EP “Idiotesque” for sale, using Bandcamp. This year she infamously parted ways with her label and is doing it all on her own (plus a small team), so there is some hope for the indie artist.
Rock on AFP and here’s to you, if you’re an indie artist trying to recoup your expenses or a indie fan helping the artists do their thang.

July 20th, 2010On Music Mondays I write about music.
Apologies for the Music Monday delay. I saw Inception last night and it is: A. Maze. Ing.
Below are clips of the film, set to the song that scored the trailer; it’s appropriately called “Mind Heist” by relative newcomer Jack Hemsey. He also worked on the Robin Hood trailer and on various TV and commercials.
While you’re listening, perhaps you’d be interested in a very informative Seattle Times interview with Hans Zimmer, who scored Inception. Did you know that Zimmer appeared in “Video Killed The Radio Star”? Or that he composed the entire Inception score without watching the movie? Or how he had to fight to keep in Edith Paiff’s “Non Je Ne Regrette Rien” because of the connotation once Marion Cotillard was cast? Or how about this nugget…?
There’s a certain interval which I use in “Batman Begins” and “Dark Knight” [that] I gravitate towards and I had to forced myself not to use it in this one. Really, I was serious about “Don’t use anything from ‘Dark Knight’ or ‘Batman Begins’ on this movie.” The sonic world [for "Inception"] is completely tailor-made.

Are you a fan of Radiohead? Are you a fan of Amanda Palmer?
Either way, I figure you might enjoy this… the first single from “Idiotesque”, her forthcoming album of RadioCovers. Performed on her magical ukelele.
