The World Premiere of “Last Dance”
July 1st, 2010The day has arrived, it’s time for my “Last Dance”. Below is a snippet from the Press Release, but just skip to the end if you want to get dancing!
Think you know Donna Summer’s “Last Dance”? Think again.
Girl In The Red Dress has taken the legendary 1978 track and worked her unique magic on it.
The new “Last Dance” combines an infectious up-tempo beat with the Girl’s trademark dark-edged vocals. Far from a copycat cover version of the Paul Jabara-penned classic, the Girl’s reworking is a passionate but forceful cry from the heart, bittersweet and unforgettable. And very danceable.Produced by Chris G at Studio Chicago, the track was co-engineered by Amber Moelter, the founder of ALM Talkies and creative force behind Girl In The Red Dress.
“Last Dance” is the second release in a series of imaginative cover versions of tracks from iconic female artists, re-recorded by Girl In The Red Dress.
It follows the Girl’s chart-topping version of “Who’s That Girl?”, which turned the Madonna song into a soulful French waltz and spun the track in a new and unexpected direction to great acclaim.
“Last Dance” by Girl In The Red Dress is available in MP3 256kbps format, which will play on iPod® and all MP3 players.
Download it securely through Paypal or with credit card for $0.99.
Don’t waste a minute, because it’s time to DANCE!Thank you to all the fans who have been so supportive of my music. I love to express myself through singing, but you make the party much more fun! I hope you love this track and play it at the end of your next party. Let’s make this Summer hot.
If you’re still not sold, here’s the teaser video to tempt you:

February 1st, 2010On ALMT-Music Mondays I write about music.
I spent my monday appropriately making music (GITRD is working on a new song).
Before we get down to business my producer Chris G. and I like to talk shop. Oh, to be a fly on the wall… we discussed how the music industry is now a singles market, how his new clients (including one stripper) are asking for Gaga tracks, and of course last night’s musical event: The Grammys.
I’ll keep this brief, below are some of the evenings big moments from the show (I left out the “3D” Michael Jackson number, possibly because I’m a little bitter about my extra trip to Target to get the 3D glasses).
The highlight for me was Pink’s phenomenal performance of “Glitter in the Air” while… well, you must see it for yourself.
Other show highlights:
What do you think? Is is a singles market now?
Do you bother buying entire albums anymore? I know I do, but am I in the minority?
Did you watch the Grammys? What was your favorite performance?
Did you also think Pink was amazing, or do you agree with EW, who only gave it a C+?February 1st,2010 Blogging, Music Mondays, Video | Sections: 3D, Beyonce, Chris G, Elton John, Entertainment Weekly, EW, Glitter in the Air, Grammy Music Awards, Grammys, If I Were A Boy, lady gaga, Maxwell, Michael Jackson, Pink, Poker Face, Pretty Wings, Roberta Flack, Speechless, Where Is The Love, You Oughta Know, Your Song | No Comments
