The World Premiere of “Last Dance”
July 1st, 2010The day has arrived, it’s time for my “Last Dance”. Below is a snippet from the Press Release, but just skip to the end if you want to get dancing!
Think you know Donna Summer’s “Last Dance”? Think again.
Girl In The Red Dress has taken the legendary 1978 track and worked her unique magic on it.
The new “Last Dance” combines an infectious up-tempo beat with the Girl’s trademark dark-edged vocals. Far from a copycat cover version of the Paul Jabara-penned classic, the Girl’s reworking is a passionate but forceful cry from the heart, bittersweet and unforgettable. And very danceable.Produced by Chris G at Studio Chicago, the track was co-engineered by Amber Moelter, the founder of ALM Talkies and creative force behind Girl In The Red Dress.
“Last Dance” is the second release in a series of imaginative cover versions of tracks from iconic female artists, re-recorded by Girl In The Red Dress.
It follows the Girl’s chart-topping version of “Who’s That Girl?”, which turned the Madonna song into a soulful French waltz and spun the track in a new and unexpected direction to great acclaim.
“Last Dance” by Girl In The Red Dress is available in MP3 256kbps format, which will play on iPod® and all MP3 players.
Download it securely through Paypal or with credit card for $0.99.
Don’t waste a minute, because it’s time to DANCE!Thank you to all the fans who have been so supportive of my music. I love to express myself through singing, but you make the party much more fun! I hope you love this track and play it at the end of your next party. Let’s make this Summer hot.
If you’re still not sold, here’s the teaser video to tempt you:

February 5th, 2010On ALMT-Fan Fridays I write about fandom.
Today’s blog is brought to you by the letter “M”. As in Minnesota.
Right now I am at my parent’s house in Minnesota. “Was Chicago not cold enough for you?” I hear you ask. Although I am enjoying the surplus snow, in fact I came ‘home’ for the weekend because I will be attending “Love Full Out.”
“Love Full Out” is a dance show that happens to feature the choreographical skills of Miss Kourtni Lind, who as you may know was in “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 4 and also is a very talented member of the Dirty Step Upstage cast. But that’s not the only reason I’m already a fan.
Twin Cities Dance Collaborative is the company behind this performance, which is founded by my high school dance teacher Robin Lind, and her eldest daughter and Kourtni’s sister, Mykala (Lind) Micek whom I taught and danced with in the late 90s.
The company emphasizes charity (all proceeds will go to Second Harvest Heartland) and community (members of the the non-competitive group range from 9 to 22 from all over the metro area).
If you’re in the Twin Cities this weekend I highly suggest you check it out. With choreographers from shows such as So You Think You Can Dance, Glee, Fame, and more it should prove to be a great show.
