ALMT-MM: Amanda Palmer going Siamese
April 12th, 2010On ALMT-Music Mondays I write about music.
I’ve only recently discovered Amanda (F*cking) Palmer in recent months, and have become captivated by her incredible creativity and humor. Check out a video from her latest project, Evelyn Evelyn: where she and Jason Webley are… conjoined twin sisters.
AFP just posted this “Behind The Music”, including tour dates. Hmmm, what am I doing June 2?
She’s hours away from opening tonight in Boston, according to her Twitter page. Jealous.

April 10th, 2010On ALMT-Social Saturdays I write about Social Networking.
Recently I received a notice for Mr. Tweet. Are any of you using it? It promises to be “your personal networking assistant” and once you plug in your Twitter name, it suggests users and Tweets of interest.
For me it suggested the following communities: Filmmaker, Erotica (because of all my latex friends), and Paranormal (I didn’t know I had a lot of Paranormal friends). It also showed me “Good Followers You Are Not Following Back”. I’m definitely going to check that feature out.
Another cool feature is being able to see what nice things people have written about you, and retweet them easily.
So, I’m going to check it out and I’ll get back to you on how it goes. Any of you have a Mr. Tweet personal assistant?
ALMT-SS: Today is Obscura Day #obscuraday
March 20th, 2010On ALMT-Social Saturdays I write about Social Networking.

Organized by Atlas ObscuraWhat strangeness is lurking in your backyard? That’s the question that Obscura Day is asking.
For one day only, 80 curious events are happening in 20 countries by at least 4,000 people. Will you be one of them?
Their website is an up-to-date wiki-style page with Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Blog updates about Obscura Day participants. So, even you can’t get out you can see what weirdness is happening world-wide. Right now Gadling.com is reporting:
In San Francisco, a tour will be visiting the Musee Mecanique, a museum devoted to antique coin operated carnival games. In Detroit, the tour will bring visitors to the Heidelberg Project, and “outsider art” project made from found objects. Meanwhile, in Brooklyn, the tour will bring visitors inside the Atlantic Avenue Tunnel, a 170-year-old subway tunnel Gadling visited last year. Those living outside the U.S. will find plenty to do as well, with events taking place from Canada to Iceland to Japan.
Below is the list of cities that have organized tours this year, but if your hometown isn’t listed you can Email them to organize a future event.
As for me, all my backyard had to offer was a fresh spring snow. Strange.
